Some trivia about Lee Dong Wook. Selected a couple of interesting ones ;) He is quite... the witty guy and so humble and passionate about what he's doing. He debuted 10 years (or so) ago but only thru My Girl, he was recognised. yayyyy :')
( good stuff )

Some worthy dramas and possibly.. the most tear-inducing (the first two actually)
1. 2. ( current love ^^ )
3. The moon that embraces the sun!!! This is such an epic drama. Possibly this year's blockbuster imo. For its greatness, it is unjustified for this to be shared here hence, it shall have a post entirely of its own. later. Kim soo hyun!! I feel like a traitor for the shameless gushing over LDW (above) cuz I'm not over you yet. hahahaaa. |

Watched this. Atiqah, I loved the movie! despite its non fairy-tale ending... I felt the ache; all those lost times.. They just were friends for um such a long time. Does it not occur to him that she has feelings for him..? Or did he not develop feelings for her only until much later..? My fav line: "She made you decent.. and well, in return you made her so so happy." <3
I'm just speculating here... Dexter wasn't so mature back then. in the 1980s thru 1990s (hence the wasted career, flings...) and only when they reunited at their fren's wedding, he hit maturity eh? And the whole getting married to another woman first before Emma and becoming a father, that made him a man and finally finally he decided to meet Em and 'fess up.
Aaand the flashbacks at the end, they were so beautiful! To say he's entirely immature is not true cuz... he asked for Em's number and that started a whole new f'ship, which would change him forever. Indeed, you don't need to see or feel to be able to love/care for somebody. The power of memories~
I want to know the contents of the letters Emma sent to him over the years! |

Wow. Heard about my Professor's background story... and all I can think of is, how much she can relate to what she's teaching (Family)
I don't think I'll able to look at Prof Shirley the same again~ She's SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO ME; I feel like we share the same views. :) She claims to be a feminist, but not the extreme-street-protest-bra-burning- kind. hahaha. She advocates fair and just treatment for women. I also agree with her that "it is easy to make claims... but substantiating your claims is, a different matter". No? All these feminists, if they direct more of their energy & passion towards policies that cause the plight of women all around the world, particularly the LDCs instead of... pushing for equal rights/chances All the time, maybe just maybe.. there is hope for improvement.
It's never easy being a woman. Something like this, easily slides by; taken-for-granted. Like it's not enough at the workplace (not that I'm pushing for the housewife/tai-tai image), we still have to attend to matters of the family. The second shift. pfft. We'd clearly appreciate even if it's just a small gesture like cleaning up after yourself (points to the man in the house)... that's the least husbands can do right...? Yet it's all too common for the women to wash the dishes, prepare dinner, replenish stocks... (evn things like tissue ppr, such a trivial thing) and then attend to the children~ woah. This is what I'm trying to drive at; it's has become normalized for the women to do house chores. taken for granted, in fact. that it never occurred to the husband that he has to lend a hand. house chores, trivial what. We men bring home the dough, that's the least wives can do~ pft. Dual-income earners?
Which reminds me of... the time during tutorial; we debated about whether housewives should get paid?? Hmm. If by paying elevates the status of childcare & housework, I'D SAY YESS WHY NOT. because rn.. housewives are not regarded v highly. This image needs some tlc. their job matters as much as their working husbands' But on the flipside, the devotion and emotion work that goes into housework & childcare cannot be quantified.
so how? |

My meticulous-ness is killing me. I can't help scanning my essay over n over and when that happens, I tend to change the sentence structure and add in new things! Gosh. I feel pity for subjecting myself to this... Haha. My eyes feel strained... and I've been working on this term paper so diligently for two days now. (Deadline: tmr afternoon)
I never knew doing a history term paper is so mentally/intellectually demanding!!! Wah, seriously. This may be the last time I'm taking a history mod. Learning about it is cool...and kinda fascinating. Especially when I can relate to what I've learnt and draw linkages when I'm watching some periodic drama. Haha. |
